On May 7, 2015 New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo instructed Acting State Labor Commissioner Mario J. Musolino to empanel a Wage Board to investigate and make recommendations on an increase in the minimum wage in the fast-food industry. On July 22, 2015 the Fast Food Wage Board of the state of New York voted to raise the minimum wage in fast-food industry to $15 per hour.
